MAKEUP KIT ESSENTIALS

We are all for promoting natural beauty, but have you ever wanted to venture into the world of the art form we call makeup and the multi-billion dollar business of cosmetics? Makeup has always been a part of many women’s lives. The right makeup can make or break your outfit. If you want to start now or if you want to know whether you have the right stuff, then carry on reading.  For this article, I’ll share with you all the makeup essentials you need to have.

  1. Foundation – because we all want perfect-looking skin… Foundation is packaged as liquid, cake, cream, or powder.  These days, liquid foundation is by far the most popular, but foundation can also be matte, moisturizing or dewy. If you’re aspiring to be a makeup artist, you’ll have to buy lots of shades; however, if you’re on a budget, you can always buy the lightest and darkest liquid foundation. That way, you can just blend them until you get the shade you want.
  2. Concealer – As the name implies, this is applied any marks or dark spots you wish to conceal. It can also come in the form of a liquid or a cream. Tip: If you use liquid foundation, use liquid concealer as well for a flawless blend.
  3. Powder – to seal that foundation and stop it from irrigating; It can be loose, pressed, or compact.
  4. Eye Shadow – It can add color to your face or help you achieve that smoky eye effect you want. Eye Shadow is packaged as a powder, a cream, or a pencil.
  5. Eye Liner – These are packaged as a pencil, liquid, or gel. As for your waterline, use kohl.
  6. Mascara – I don’t know about you but I absolutely love long voluminous eyelashes. You can achieve that look with properly applied mascara which specializes in lengthening or volumizing.
  7. Brow liner – Brow liner is available in pencil, powder, or gel. Pencil only colors the skin. Powder colors the skin and the hair. Gel colors the skin and hair, plus keeps those eyebrow hairs in place.
  8. Blush – Blush comes as a powder, cream, or tint; Tip: When using cream or tint blush, apply them right after putting on your foundation, prior to setting with your powder.
  9. Lipstick – Lipstick is available in an array of shades and colors these days. The main types of lipstick are cream, lip tint, and gloss (…and let’s not forget lip liners). Just like your eye shadows, lippies can be matte or glossy, whichever you prefer.

That’s it! Easy, right? You can always add false lashes, bronzers, and other highlights, but as far as your basic makeup necessities go, the above list is all that you would need for a starter kit. Happy beauty shopping my lovelies!
